Commuters, Petco Park patrons and city building visitors to have easier parking

Access Professional Systems (APS), in partnership with Vasquez Construction, has been awarded the contract to replace the Parking Access and Revenue Control System (PARCS) equipment for the Metropolitan Transit System garage in the heart of East Village in San Diego.

This high volume parking structure serves the city building, commuters and event parking for Petco Park. The project will result in a faster and more convenient way to park. Work has begun and the goal is to turn over the new PARCS technology by the end of the year, while mitigating impacts to current parkers.

This project brings many groups together for a coordinated effort to improve the situation for parkers. The contract was awarded by the San Diego Regional Building Authority and Colliers International. The parking structure itself is operated by ACE Parking. The project is set to replace five lanes of WPS equipment and one pay on foot device with TIBA Parking Equipment.

APS President Chris Scheppmann says, “We are excited to get the vote of confidence by Colliers International to renovate the parking experience at the MTS Garage. This is high volume parking structure serves the city building, commuters and event parking for Petco Park. Upgrading the equipment is going to provide a reliable, fast and convenient parking experience.”

This is one of many new projects for APS. In partnership with TIBA Parking Systems, APS is rapidly expanding its customer footprint and parking services for the southern California region and is excited to have Colliers and the MTS as its newest client.
