Founded in 1977 by Russell L. Scheppmann, Access Professional Systems, Inc. has been providing quality comprehensive gate automation, access control, video surveillance, and parking control solutions for over 45 years.
Our History.
Starting as an automated garage door installer at the age of 17, Scheppmann’s ingenuity and attention to detail have yielded a trustworthy, industry-leading company, combining the operational capability and strength of a large corporation with a small company’s commitment to quality service. APS treats all clients with the same level of professionalism and dedication no matter how large or small the request.
Because producing a quality product and service are top priorities, APS only partners with reputable companies that are leaders in their respective fields. APS employs only factory trained technicians, who are specialists in the areas of gate automation, access control, video surveillance, and parking control solutions. All APS technicians are assigned an experienced manager who oversees our installation team and follows through with the from start to finish.

Company Specialises Garage Doors, Security Systems, Gate Automation.
1990
Venture capital is secured to launch PowerGuard, a new company specializing in batter back-up and power supply for gate operators.
1993
PowerGuard is sold.
2000
APS secures large projects: SeaTac, Portland and Birmingham Airport Parking Controls, and Automation Projects.
2002
Russ Scheppmann creates a technology and software spin-off of Access Professionals called APS Technology Group.
2013
APS Technology is sold to ABB Inc.
2013-2016
Access Professionals Systems sees exponential growth, and continues to be an industry leader throughout Southern California and Arizona.
2016-Present
Chris Scheppmann joins APS as the company's President to continue driving growth and innovation.
